Common Questions About Payments and Charges

What payment methods do you accept?

For online purchases, we accept:

  • All major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)
  • PayPal
  • Shop Pay
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Affirm financing (on qualifying purchases)

For in-store purchases, we accept:

  • All major credit cards
  • Debit cards
  • Cash
  • Certified checks
  • Financing options (subject to approval)

When will my credit card be charged?

For in-stock items:

  • Your credit card is authorized when you place your order
  • The full amount is charged when your order ships

For backordered or special order items:

  • Your card is authorized for the full amount at the time of purchase
  • The full charge is processed when your order ships
  • For extended backorders, the authorization may expire and be re-authorized

Do I have to pay sales tax?

Sales tax is charged based on:

  • The shipping destination address
  • Current tax rates for that jurisdiction
  • Applicable state, county, and local taxes

We are required to collect sales tax in states where we have physical presence (nexus) or as required by state marketplace facilitator laws. Tax amounts are calculated during checkout based on your shipping address.

When will my refund appear on my account?

After your return is received and approved:

  • Credit card refunds typically process within 3-5 business days
  • PayPal refunds usually appear within 24-48 hours
  • Bank processing times may add additional days before funds appear in your account

You'll receive an email confirmation when your refund is processed.

I have a question about charges on my statement

If you see charges you don't recognize or have questions about your billing:

  1. Check your email for order confirmations that match the date and amount
  2. Note that charges may appear as "SSD MOTORSPORTS" or "SSD AUTO PARTS"

  4. Include the date, amount, and description of the charge in question

  • Payment terms from 3-36 months
  • Available for purchases $200 and up

In-Store Financing

  • Available for installation services and product purchases
  • Competitive rates
  • Same-day approval in most cases
  • Various term lengths available

Do you offer discounts for military, first responders, or other groups?

Yes, we proudly offer the following discounts:

  • Military (active duty and veterans): 5% off
  • First Responders: 5% off
  • Automotive Industry Professionals: Varies by brand

To receive your discount:

  • For online orders: Contact us before placing your order
  • For in-store purchases: Present valid ID or credentials
  • For installation services: Mention when scheduling your appointment

These discounts cannot be combined with other promotions or applied retroactively.

What is your price match policy?

We offer price matching on identical products from authorized dealers:

  • The competitor must be an authorized dealer for the brand
  • The product must be identical (same part number)
  • The competitor's price must include shipping and handling
  • Clearance, closeout, or special promotion prices are excluded

To request a price match:

  1. Contact us at support@ssd-motorsports.com
  2. Provide a link to the competitor's product
  3. Include your contact information
  4. We'll verify the price and respond within 1 business day

How do I use a gift certificate or store credit?

To redeem a gift certificate or store credit:

  1. Add products to your cart
  2. Proceed to checkout
  3. Enter your gift certificate code or store credit in the designated field
  4. The amount will be deducted from your total

Store credit is linked to your account and will appear automatically at checkout when you're logged in.

Can I split payment between multiple methods?

For online orders, we currently do not support split payments across multiple payment methods. For in-store purchases, we can accommodate split payments between certain methods (please ask a team member for details).
